Jambo Grill Atl

This was our first time trying Kenyan food. Lucy (the chef) was so kind and inviting. She shared great recommendations for foods to try on our first visit. Our food was served piping hot and was absolutely delicious!

While visiting friends in ATL, we were in the mood for some Kenyan food and decided to give this place a try. This is by far one of the best African/Kenyan restaurants. Not only was the food delicious.... the service was also top tier. The prices are great and so are the generous portions. Solid *5 stars* and definitely worth the visit!!!

WOW. I am so impressed with this gem right outside Atlanta! I came here because the reviews were so good and i wanted to see what the hype was about and they did not disappoint! Auntie in the front was so welcoming and sweet. Her energy was like a hug. She was very accommodating and explained the dishes and gave her recommendations since this was my first time having Kenyan food. The wait was tad bit long but so worth it. This food was made with LOVE yall! This is my new spot. Hands down some of the best food i have had in so long. You can tell they actually care about their food and prepare it with care. If you are wondering whether you should try this place, just check it out. You will not be disappointed.

I have spent a lot of time in Kenya over the years and fallen in love with the country and their food. The food and atmosphere at Jambo Grill is authentic and amazing. It is as if I was in Kenya again. The smells, the taste, the people all remind me of East Africa. The samosas were cooked perfectly. The rice was very tasty. Everything we had at our table looked, smelled, and tasted amazing. The restaurant was very clean. If you have never experienced Kenyan food, give it a try. The staff speak English and the menu has pictures if you are not familiar with the cuisine. Kenyan food is well seasoned, but not too spicy. The restaurant is a fast casual concept where you order at the counter and then they bring the food out to you. It creates a laid back atmosphere. If you are anxious about trying new cuisines from different cultures, they have set up this restaurant to make it easy for you. Stop in and give it a try.

My family and I absolutely LOVED this restaurant. From the food to the ambiance of the place as well as the most gracious owners. Sam and Lucy made us feel so welcome from the time we entered the restaurant until well left. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Atlanta.

This was our first visit and we went on the strength of their perfect review score. They’ve earned every one of their five stars with fresh, delicious food and friendly service. Must try’s: samosas (squeeze the lemon on them, trust me), pilau rice, and beef nyama choma. So good, I shared the restaurant with family on the drive back home.

I went to this restaurant with my Kenyan friend who’s a local there and I had the beef stew with fufu. It was hands down the best I ever had. Being Haitian, I come from a culture that emphasizes flavor in our cooking and this dish satisfied all aspects of a flavorful dish. It was a good portion as well as I had left overs to take home. The cherry on top was the amazing service from both the husband and the wife that runs this restaurant. I will certainly be back again!

Amazing food! Everything was delicious, and I especially loved Lucy’s homemade chili sauce. The owners, Lucy and Sam, were so lovely and welcoming. We really enjoyed chatting with them about Kenya and can’t wait to come back!
